Prolegomenon and Other Random Thoughts
Definition went with all ligero on this beefy blend. As they like to say, it “Defines Bold Flavor.” Me, I just love the aqua bands and usually love ligero cigars. So my excitement was high on trying this one out. NGL, that excitement might have gotten a little WWE influenced in this review. 😂

The Review
This review for the Definition Defigero (Aqua Band) - Gran Toro (6.5 x 54) is based on the journal entry dated 2025-07-17
Appearance & Construction (0-3): Good (3)
A dark chocolate brown, this Maduro leaf has a great oily sheen, good mottling, and tooth, giving it a nice, worn leather look. Not many veins, and the couple present are nice and thin. This one has the closed foot but a traditional triple cap. Overall, a beautiful cigar. The wrapper seems to be on the delicate side while the cigar itself has a nice firm feel to it. The leaf around the cap seemed like it might crack from the pressure of the punch, so I used the V-cut instead.
Draw (0-3) & Burn (0-4): Good (3) / Good (3)
The draw is spot on and the burn starts well. The ash is a light gray, nearly bright white that is a bit flaky. It does have a number of oil crystals, but the ash is so light they blend right in. The ash seems crumbly and delicate and the burn line is very uneven, so this might be an “early ash and correct” situation. And man, this cigar is not a bit, but super flaky, dropping bits everywhere! So I ash early, apply a light correction, and go on my merry way with a wavy, but manageable burn for the rest of the smoke.
Flavor Profile (0-5): Excellent (5)
First draws hit with heavy baking spice and a zesty fruit sweet right off the draw. Cinnamon swirls with a good pepper bite and tingles the mouth. Rich chocolate and creaminess enter the ring next. This cigar starts off so robustly it feels like the flavors are going to be doing the equivalent of the Royal Rumble rather than playing nicely. We’re also getting some charred oakiness, molasses sweet, damp earth, and hints of leather. This is an absolute banger in the first inch. You might be thinking it’s pronounced “dee-fig-er-oh” like Figaro in the Barber of Seville, especially because your mouth will be singing “Largo al factotum.” You know, la-la-la-la-la-LA! 😅 It’s actually pronounced “Deaf-A-Hairo,” combining Definition with Ligero, since they’re using aged Ligero in the cigar. But this cigar is a total fucking laugh riot and we’re barely to the second third. Breadiness and malt have entered the ring and it’s just an explosion of flavor. The sweet is raisin-y, citrusy, and molasses all in one. It’s bready, toasty, oaky, and charred. There’s baking spice, cinnamon, and pepper, balanced by chocolate malt and cocoa. The only flavors that are mild are coffee, leather, and must, but everything else that’s present goes to 11. There’s a hint of harshness from the pepper, but it’s mostly keeping things at a nice mouth burn with fantastic flavor. Overall, this is a fairly smooth smoke because of the rich, creamy finish. The final third just keeps the party going and I’ve been loving every minute of this cigar. It’s punk rock, a mosh pit, a bunch of overstimulated Bills Mafia guys in the parking lot. It’s just a free-for-all of flavor but it’s a great time. The only downside is I’m starting to feel the swoon of the nicotine and I’m not done. But I have been loving every draw of this cigar. Definition absolutely hit it out of the pa… Wait, that’s a baseball reference and I’m in full wrestling mode. 😅 This cigar is a stone cold stunner. 💪
Overall Experience (0-5): Excellent (5)
Flaky ash be damned! 😅 This is the Yokozuna splash off the top ropes, the Atomic Leg Drop, the Bionic Elbow, the Tombstone Piledriver, and Alabama Slamma all in one cigar. Most companies will offer a Nicaraguan puro that exudes full strength, but they tend to be harsh, leathery, or not very refined. The Defigero avoids those traps with a broad palette of flavors that all work beautifully and deliciously. Balance may not be its strong suit, but it works. Now I wouldn’t recommend this cigar to a newbie or anybody with light tolerance because it’ll make you tap out, but for those who want a full-bodied cigar that brings the tables, ladders, and chairs, this is a wild ride. 🔥🔥🔥 Eat a good meal before you take this one on and try not to scream out D-VON! GET THE TABLES! 😅 More succinctly, smoke this and have a nice day! 😁
